In mid-2025, regular Americans' disillusionment with politics was already and an all-time high, and voter power at an all time low. And then the President kicked off a gerrymandering war, starting in Texas. And then the Supreme Court gutted what remains of the Voting Rights Act in their Calais decision.

Darkest before the dawn goes the saying... and in this case it might just be true.

Acclaimed author and journalist David Daley is going to trace the massive rays of light that are beaming through these storm clouds. There has been a unprecedented response to these epic setbacks -- factions of national party leaders talking about structural reforms to end voter disenfranchisement once and for all, and nearly guarantee representation for all of us. Alongside this, there are other powerful party factions that would still hold voters back.

But a new force on local, state, and national politics that won't stand for business as usual -- regular people and grassroots coalitions pushing for a vision of democracy that finally realizes our aspirations. These local rooted networks are doing the work so their communities can understand what's at stake, explore real opportunities for positive change, and move forward together.
