 Reminder: What RCV means for Salem

After Salem voters approve their referendum (after the HRP passes) and this RCV Home Rule Petition is implemented,  Salem voters will enjoy the following from RCV:

1. One trip to the polls instead of two with the elimination of preliminary elections.
2. The significant cost saving associated with eliminating the preliminary elections, and a little more breathing room for the city clerk's office.
3. Competitive, constructive RCV general elections for Mayor
4. Similar RCV elections for 7 ward specific councilors
5. The best representation for the most voters through proportional ranked choice voting elections for the 4 at-large city councilors and the 6 school committee members elected three at a time every two years.
